Sportz Village Launches ArenaZ Venue in Chennai

Thursday, April 16, 2026

Sportz Village, India’s largest school sports organisation with over two decades of experience in physical education and youth sports, has announced the launch of its first ArenaZ by Sportz Village venue in Chennai at Nathella Vidhyodaya School. It extends the ArenaZ network, already thriving in Delhi, Bangalore and Gurgaon. It unlocks premium and accessible multi-sport opportunities for thousands of young people, families and working professionals in the heart of Chennai. Contd

ArenaZ is Sportz Village’s flagship venue network that solves a long-standing paradox in Indian sport: world-class school sports infrastructure lying idle after hours, while communities nearby struggle to find a quality place to play. By partnering with schools, ArenaZ converts underutilised grounds and courts into vibrant, professionally managed sports hubs - open to the public during non-school hours, evenings and weekends.

The newly developed ArenaZ venue at Nathella Vidhyodaya School, Chennai, spans approximately 19,000 sqft, featuring two pickleball courts, one 9v9 football ground and two cricket nets. Designed as a comprehensive multi-sport destination, the venue combines premium infrastructure with accessibility. With a capacity of up to 3,500 sessions per week and meticulously maintained facilities, it sets a new benchmark for community sports infrastructure in a city neighbourhood.

Commenting on the launch, Salim Bharmal, Business Head, ArenaZ, Sportz Village said, "At Sportz Village, we have always believed that quality sports infrastructure should not remain idle when communities around it are actively looking for spaces to play. With ArenaZ, we follow a win-win model where schools partner with us to professionally manage their underutilised sports facilities, generating sustainable revenue streams while we handle operations, maintenance and bookings end-to-end. Our partnership with Nathella Vidhyodaya School reflects the kind of forward-thinking institutions we aim to work with. This includes schools that see their infrastructure not just as a student asset, but as a community enabler. This launch expands access to premium play experiences for individuals and groups - whether for recreation, fitness or skill development - while helping schools build stronger community engagement, all while advancing our mission of getting more people to play."

Radhika Nathella, Correspondent, Nathella Vidhyodaya added, "At Nathella, we have always believed that sports infrastructure should serve a larger purpose beyond school hours. Our partnership with Sportz Village ArenaZ allows us to extend the value of our facilities to the wider community in a structured and sustainable way. We look forward to building a long-term ecosystem that encourages more people to stay active and engaged through sport."
