Aries Agro, a provider of micronutrients and specialised plant nutrition, is strengthening its CSR efforts in 2026 through two technology-led social impact initiatives focused on Education and Healthcare & Assistive Technology. The programmes are designed to address critical gaps in rural digital access, gender equity in education, and access to advanced assistive technologies for persons with disabilities (PwDs).

Through these initiatives, Aries Agro aims to create measurable and sustainable impact across underserved communities, with a combined direct reach of over 2,000 rural students, 55 visually impaired individuals and 90 upper-limb amputees across different parts of India.

The first initiative focuses on bridging the rural digital and gender divide in education by establishing computer infrastructure and dedicated STEM education programmes for young girls in rural Rajasthan. As part of the programme, Aries Agro is setting up functional computer labs equipped with laptops across eight rural schools, where digital infrastructure was previously non-existent. Contd

World Bank Backs Water and Agricultural Resilience in Brazil's ParanĂ¡ State

Saturday, August 29, 2026

World Bank will support the State of ParanĂ¡, Brazil, strengthen water security and protect farmers and rural communities from climate shocks through a new project. It is expected to generate and protect between 54,000 and 78,000 jobs across agriculture, water services and associated economic activity in one of Brazil's most economically vital regions.

ParanĂ¡'s economy depends heavily on agribusiness, which accounts for nearly a third of the state's output and the vast majority of its exports. But more frequent droughts and floods are putting this foundation at risk, threatening farms, disrupting water supplies, and eroding the livelihoods of millions of people. The proposed project aims to help reverse this trend by strengthening how water resources are managed across the state, improving resilience to climate extremes, and securing access to water and sanitation for vulnerable communities.
