National Technology Day - Industry Voices

Tuesday, May 12, 2026

May 11th was observed as National Technology Day. Technology today is increasingly being seen as the pat to get ahead not only for the professionals but also for the country. How this path has to be forged is something that needs to be discussed and worked out.

The industry sent out strong signals of hope ad aspirations on this day. Following are some comments -

Dr Sanjay Katkar, Joint Managing Director at Quick Heal Technologies said, "On National Technology Day, we applaud India's remarkable advancements in science, innovation and digital transformation from indigenous technological breakthroughs to globally recognised digital public infrastructure changing how citizens, businesses and governments function. Now technology is so intertwined in almost every aspect of our lives, which makes it imperative to ensure the security of our digital ecosystem.

Quick Heal Technologies has always placed digital trust at the forefront. Long before evolving regulatory frameworks and heightened awareness around data privacy, we recognised that cybersecurity must be proactive, intelligent and deeply consumer-focused. Today, as cyberattacks grow in scale and sophistication, we are strengthening our commitment through AI-powered, Made-in-India innovations across both Quick Heal and Seqrite, helping consumers, enterprises, and institutions use technology with greater confidence, resilience, and control."

Parag Khurana, Country Manager for India, Barracuda Networks said, "National Technology Day is an opportunity to not only celebrate India’s impressive digital progress, but also acknowledge how organisations can build resilience in an increasingly complex threat environment. Building cyber resilience means being prepared for disruption, not just trying to prevent it.

To start, organisations should focus on strengthening visibility across their environments, securing key entry points like email and identity, and ensuring they can respond and recover quickly when incidents occur. An integrated approach to security is critical as attacks become more sophisticated and span multiple channels.

At the same time, as AI becomes embedded across business operations, organisations must take steps to safeguard its use. This means applying the same level of scrutiny to AI tools as any other critical asset by ensuring strong governance, protecting data integrity and mitigating the risk of AI-enabled attacks.

At Barracuda, we’re proud to be helping Indian organisations simplify security and build resilience through solutions that bring together detection, response and protection. Combined with our engineering presence in Bangalore and collaboration with local partners, we’re focused on enabling businesses to adopt new technologies with confidence and continuity."

Amit Relan, CEO and Co-founder of mFilterIt said, "National Technology Day is not just a celebration of innovation; it is a reminder that technology carries the responsibility to build systems that are intelligent, resilient, and fundamentally trustworthy. In today’s digital economy, innovation cannot be measured only by speed or scale; it must also be measured by the integrity it enables and the problems it solves before they impact businesses and consumers.

At mFilterIt, we believe the future belongs to organizations that use technology with foresight and responsibility, not just to address challenges as they emerge, but to create stronger, more transparent, and resilient digital ecosystems. As industries become increasingly data-driven and interconnected, technology must evolve beyond automation to become an enabler of trust, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

The true impact of technology will not be defined by how advanced it appears, but by how effectively it strengthens ecosystems, protects stakeholders, and creates long-term value for businesses and consumers alike. That is the direction we continue to build towards at mFilterIt."

Brijesh Agarwal, CEO, Busy Infotech said, “On National Technology Day, it’s a good moment to reflect on how dramatically technology has evolved, from a time when accessing business information took weeks to today, where insights are available in seconds. This shift has fundamentally changed how businesses operate, with data and AI now driving faster, more informed decisions.

In areas like accounting and GST, technology has played a critical role in simplifying compliance, enabling real-time reconciliation, and reducing manual effort through more integrated, end-to-end platforms. As AI continues to shape the future, the focus must also remain on responsible use that ensures transparency, security, and trust. Ultimately, National Technology Day highlights how innovation is not just improving efficiency, but empowering Indian MSMEs with smarter, trusted, and future-ready business management solutions.”

Prakash Ravindran, CEO & Co-Founder, InstiFi said, "Technology is now a foundational driver of growth across the digital payments ecosystem. As businesses and consumers rely on real-time financial solutions, building reliable, scalable, and secure systems is essential. For fintech platforms, continuous innovation, strong infrastructure, and responsible deployment of emerging technologies are imperative to deliver consistent user experiences and manage risk. Robust technology frameworks enable merchants and users to transact with greater efficiency and confidence. At InstiFI, we embed technology across our platforms and processes to meet the needs of a digital-first economy. As adoption deepens, investment in technology and accountability will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital payments."

These comments show that the industry is hopeful and optimistic about the increasing role of technology in the future and is making strategies to prepare for it.
