Saksham Rozgar Society holds Drawing Competition for Skill Development

Thursday, February 5, 2026

Saksham Rozgar Society (SRS), a non-governmental organisation committed to empowering young people through skill development, continues to emphasise that meaningful learning is a gradual process requiring sustained effort, long-term dedication and early engagement.

SRS organised its Third Annual Drawing Competition on 1st February 2026 across four locations in Noida and Kaushambi. The venues included Pragati Public Inter College (organiser - Vimla Kaushik), Gandhi Smarak Inter College (organiser - Adv Abhishek; Chief Guest - Major Dr. Mukesh Dwivedi), Saraswati Balika Vidyalaya (organiser - Sandeep Chawla; Chief Guest - Parmod Verma) and Shipra Krishna Society (organiser - Zuinara Ambreen; Chief Guests - SP Mishra and Vinay Jaiswal). A committed team of volunteers ensured the smooth execution of the programme, which saw enthusiastic participation from students of varied backgrounds and institutions.

As part of its outreach initiative, the Society contacted several schools in Noida and Ghaziabad to encourage student participation. A total of 780 students took part in the competition, showcasing remarkable artistic talent through vibrant and imaginative artworks.

The themes were thoughtfully designed to nurture social responsibility and awareness among children. Participants were given on-the-spot topics such as A Day at the Zoo, Clean India, Healthy India, Operation Sindoor and Air Pollution. Each student was provided with drawing sheets and wax crayons, allowing them to express their creativity freely. The event was conducted entirely free of cost to ensure inclusivity and equal opportunity for all. Winners received prizes and certificates in recognition of their efforts.

Despite morning rain, the enthusiasm of the children remained undiminished. The event evolved into a lively celebration of creativity, love for nature, artistic expression, teamwork and healthy competition. Volunteers worked diligently for over a month, meticulously planning topics, arranging materials, coordinating logistics and organising prizes, thereby ensuring a seamless experience across all venues.

Jyotika Kalra, President, SRS stated that the initiative seeks to foster creativity, artistic expression and a strong sense of community among students. She reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to guiding young minds from an early age so they may grow into responsible and socially conscious citizens.

She also acknowledged the exceptional contributions of Sumit Gaur, Radha Arya, Dipti Chawla, CA Avineesh Matta, Om Ji, Amit Gautam, Raghu Kalra, Mukesh Jain, Nishi Jain and Asif Azmi, without whose dedication and tireless efforts the competition would not have been possible.

Perspective

Creative learning such as drawing and painting can encourage various skills such as enhancing analytical and innovative thinking, encouraging perspective and critical insight in any situation and development of aesthetic temperament which in turn, can relate to sustainability.

When seen from this viewpoint, encouraging creative and artistic expressions in young children can lead to fruitful results in skill development. Children should be regularly taught artistic and creative learning to instill a holistic development in them.
